Lake County Literacy Coalition (LCLC) is a non-profit volunteer organization that sponsors and supports the Adult Literacy Program of Lake County Library. Our mission: To promote the programs that help adults and families break the cycle of illiteracy.
What we do:
Train tutors to assist people who want to improve reading skills
Provide special training sessions on related topics:
English as a Second Language
Learning Disabilities
Support the Families for Literacy Program:
Provide free children’s books to participants to build a home library
Promote Story Time
Fridays at 10:15am, Lakeport Library
Thursdays at 11:00am, Redbud Library in Clearlake
Promote Lake Co. Library Events
Participate in fund-raising events
T-Shirt sales/Vineyard Run registration at the annual Pear Festival in Kelseyville – Saturday, September 29, 2012
Vineyard Run for Literacy in conjunction with the annual Harvest Festival at Steele Winery - Sunday, October 14, 2012
When we meet:
The Lake County Literacy Coalition (LCLC) meets on the second Monday of each month. We welcome community members interested in supporting our mission (call 707-263-7633 for more information).
It is never too early, or too late, to discover the magic of books!
LCLC is affiliated with Pro-Literacy, the world’s oldest and largest nonprofit organization dedicated to adult literacy.
