Catalyst is a community support center and information clearing house serving Mendocino and Lake Counties.  Services fall into three main categories, the Resource Library, Training, and Technical Assistance.

1. Resource Library – Catalyst is a Cooperating Collection of The Foundation Center.  As such we have access to the most comprehensive information available about grant makers in the United States.  We also maintain a wide-ranging collection of books and periodicals, as well as local statistics and demographic information. 

2. Training – Catalyst hosts an on-going series of public workshops aimed at the needs of local, community-based organizations.  Recent workshops include:

  • Nonprofit Governance and Leadership
  • Grants 101
  • Special Events Fundraising
  • Program Measurement: Using Evaluation and Outcomes Data
  • How To Start a Nonprofit Corporation
  • Planned Giving
  • An Introduction to Fundraising Planning
3. Technical Assistance – Catalyst staff can provide meeting and event facilitation, strategic planning, program evaluation, staff development, or conflict management assistance to local agencies and organizations.  We also maintain a Help Desk for short phone consultations and advice.
