Emergency Foster Care Beds

Lake County Department of Social Services (LCDSS) contracts with a Foster Family agency to provide emergency foster care beds.  This insures that Child Welfare Services (CWS) staff will be able to place a child in a safe environment until other placement arrangements can be made.  When a child is removed from the home, it can be difficult to find a foster home able to take a child.  Oftentimes this occurs with little or no notice, and in the Board of the night.
