Tire Amnesty Program - Revised

Beginning September 3, 2013, Lake County residents can dispose of up to 9 passenger or light truck tires free at the recycling centers in Clearlake and Lakeport.  Tires are accepted with or without rims.  Customers are asked to show proof of residency and sign a form showing the number and origin of the tires.

Residents may take their tires to either South Lake Refuse & Recycling at the entrance to the Eastlake Landfill on Davis Street or to Lake County Waste Solutions located at 230 Soda Bay Road in Lakeport.  The California Integrated Waste Management Board is providing most of the funding for the amnesty program with in-kind contributions from the Waste Management Division of the Public Services Department.

California law prohibits anyone from hauling more than 9 tires without a permit.  If you have tires bigger than 8R19.5 or more than 9 tires, please call 263-1980 for additional information. No commercial tire, auto repair or salvage businesses are allowed.
