Bomb Threat at Lake County Courthouse
At approximately 7:40 AM, Monday, May 2, 2016, the Lake County jail received a phone call claiming that a bomb was set to detonate on the 4th floor of the Lake County Courthouse located in Lakeport, California at 8:30 AM this morning.
Valley Fire Task Force Meeting
The next Valley Fire Long-Term Recovery Task Force meeting will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 6:00 PM. The location of the meeting is the Cobb Elementary School located at 15895 Highway 175 in Middletown, CA. It is open to all members of the public.

County Donation Management Winds Down
The closure of the FEMA Area Field Office (AFO) in Lakeport at the end of January and the near-completion of the CalRecycle debris cleanup for residential lots, signals a change in the direction of recovery as the Valley Fire focus shifts towards rebuilding.
Inaccuracies Discovered in “Corrected” Property Tax Bills
“REVISED Corrected” bills are scheduled to be mailed on February 3, 2016 to approximately 450 property owners. Each bill will contain a letter with an explanation of the error that occurred.

September 23, 2015 is the first day of fall and it is also “Falls Prevention Awareness Day.” Did you know that falls are the leading cause of injury deaths among older adults? According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 25,000 older adults die each year from a fall. That is one every 20 minutes. Every 13 seconds, an older adult is treated in the emergency room for a fall.
