On September 21st, 2010 the Lake County Board of Supervisors directed the Department of Water Resources to develop an abatement plan for nuisance aquatic weeds and algae in Clear Lake.  A steering committee of local business persons was appointed to advise and assist the Director of Water Resources develop the plan.  The steering committee will also be responsible for researching funding sources for the programs.
 

  The ingenuity and resourcefulness   of the people of Lake County is recognized as a major asset in   creating an abatement plan for nuisance aquatic weeds and algae in Clear Lake.  The e-mail account helpclearlake@co.lake.ca.us has been created by the Lake County Water Resources Department for the submission of ideas from individuals and groups that address nuisance weeds and algae.  Attention should be given when proposing ideas for solutions to the abatement of nuisance weeds or algae to consider the environmental affects and options to fund the proposed solution.
