RATES ARE ADJUSTED ANNUALLY

Special Districts adjusts water and sewer rates annually using the U.S. City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) as published by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics to adjust for inflation. As of January 1, 2011 the CPI increase was 1.6%. The service areas that are affected by the CPI increase include: wastewater systems in LACOSAN (NW, SE, and Middletwon), Lands End/South Lakeport and Kelseyville; and water systems in Bonanza, Finley, Kelseyville, Soda Bay and Spring Valley.

Special Districts adjusts construction related fees annually using the Construction Cost Index (CCI) posted by the Engineering News-Record. This inflation adjustment is based on the percent change of that index from January to December of the prior year. As of January 1, 2011, the CCI increase is 3.6%.

Capacity Expansion fees for the Kono Tayee water system (CSA#13) will increase 3.6% on July 1, 2011, and the Capacity Expansion fees for LACOSAN (SE) will increase by 3.6% on May 1, 2011.
