Lake County Department of Social Services has three Welfare Fraud Investigators (WFI) who investigate and insures proper compliance in the CalWORKs, CalFresh (formerly known as Food Stamps) and IHSS programs. The Investigators investigate cases of suspected welfare fraud and violations of the Public Assistance laws and regulations. They locate and interview witnesses and persons suspected of violations and they obtain and present facts and evidence to support administrative action or prosecution. The Welfare Fraud Investigators are located at the Lower Lake facility on Anderson Ranch Parkway.
