The Information Systems (IS) unit is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the computer network utilized by LCDSS staff, including the purchase and installation of all computer hardware and software. IS works with the State regarding problems or questions with Interim Statewide Automated Welfare System (ISAWS), the eligibility determination program utilized by LCDSS, as well as playing a vital roe in the transition to the new C-IV system that is scheduled to replace ISAWS in 2010. The IS unit also works with the County Information Technology Department for maintenance of various programs used throughout County departments. IS writes programs, creates reports and troubleshoots any computer problems. The IS unit also provides training on various computer applications to all new employees.
