Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loans

If the local catalog doesn't have the item you want, it may be available through interlibrary loan.  Each Lake County branch library has request cards for patrons to fill out to place requests. The interlibrary loan department will search for the books and handle the requests. Interlibrary loan is a labor-intensive service and the interlibrary loan department is small.  Allow about 5 weeks to receive the items you request. Patrons may also use the printable request form below for items not in the catalog. Print it, fill out as much as you can, and deliver it to your local branch for processing.

Sutro Library/California State Library
Sutro Library is the genealogy branch of the California State Library.  Sutro's collection includes census microfilms and genealogy books which patrons may request.  Contact your local library for more information. The California State Library headquarters in Sacramento owns microfilms of many California newspapers, which can be borrowed through interlibrary loan.
