GIS Instructions
Locating a parcel or set of parcels by APN:
Click on “Find a Parcel” in the upper left corner, above the table of contents list. In the box provided, enter up to the first 8 digits of a parcel number (with or without dashes) and click the “search” button. Any matching parcels should show up in the “Results” section to the left (if no results show, you did not enter a valid parcel number string). To go to a particular parcel, right-click on it in “Results” and select “Zoom”. You can turn off the red selection color by un-checking the box next to the APN. You can also highlight the parcel in cyan by right-clicking and selecting “Highlight”.
Locating a parcel by address:
Click on “Find Address” in the upper left. Enter an address in the window provided. A set of matching or near-matching street locations should display in the “Results” section with corresponding green push-pins on the map. You may need to use the zoom-in tool. Note that the address search works on the roads layer, and while it may get you close it does not search for specific parcels. You will need to use the “identify” tool (“i” logo in the upper right set of tools) to find the correct parcel.
Map Contents:
You can turn various layers on and off by using the check-box next to the layer name in the “Map Contents” section. Clicking on the “+” next to the layer will expand it so you can see its thematic symbology.
