District 4

Cliff Swetnam, District 4 Planning Commissioner

District 4 includes the unincorporated areas of Lakeport, North Lakeport, Scotts Valley, Finley, Lampson Field airport area, Highland Springs and part of the reclamation area near Upper Lake. The 4th District is the largest Agricultural area in Lake County.

Cliff has lived and worked in Lake County since 1997. He is a 39 year veteran Law Enforcement Officer who worked 28 years with the Alameda County Sheriff's Department and the past 10 years with the Lake County Sheriff's Department assigned to the Bailiff's unit at the Lake County Courthouse.  Cliff retired with 39 years of service in September 2009.

An active member of the community, Cliff was appointed to the Lake County Planning Commission in January of 2001. He was elected Vice President of the California County Planning Commissioners Association for 2007-2008 and is the Northern California Regional Representive for 2011.

Cliff has served on the CCPCA State Board of Directors for 8 of the past 10 years.  The CCPCA is a 80 year old organization dedicated to the education and training of County Planning Commissioners throughout the State of California.

Cliff was voted the California County Planning Commissioner of the year for 2008.
