Bob Malley, District 2 Planning CommissionerDistrict 2 includes the area surrounding the City of Clearlake and continues east along the south side of Highway 20 to the Colusa County line.
Robert "Bob" Malley Sr. was born in San Francisco in 1950. He attended Catholic schools in the City through the 9th grade when his family moved to Clear Lake Highlands in 1965. He attended and graduated from Lower Lake High School and attended Solano Junior College in Vallejo. During his senior year of high school he became a Lake County Sheriff's Cadet and in 1972 became a member of the Lake County Sheriff's office. He worked for the Civil Division, the Jail and Patrol Division until an accident in 1982 that forced his eventual retirement in 1984. He received an electronics technician license in 1985 and later bought a business in the City of Clearlake which he operated for three years eventually selling it and going to work for Mendo Mill in 1988. He became a Retail Floor Manager for the Clearlake Mendo Mill and in 1998 he accepted the offer to build, open and be General Manager of Outrageous Waters Water Park and Family Fun Center. That same year he was elected to the City of Clearlake Council and served three years as Mayor, one year as Vice-Mayor and concluded his second term in 2006.
He and his wife Debi have two grown children Robert Jr. and Gina and a daughter, Katelyn and son, Jeremy who attend local schools. They also have 9 grandchildren.
Debi Malley is Principal of East Lake School in Clearlake Oaks. Bob holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Police Science and holds multiple certificates from POST. He is also a Certified Pool Operator from World Waterpark Association.
